Grammostola pulchra

After a recent molt (12/10/2016), I was disappointed that the apparent gender of my gorgeous Brazi Black is male.

He is a voracious eater and never disappoints. This seems to be a trend on all the male individuals I’ve owned. Females seem more cautious – is that a thing with tarantulas? I will have to ask the guys at Arachnoboards if it’s a coincidence. I have not been feeding the collection for fast growth, but he easily outpaces my other species.
