New Purchases Since March 2014

Since my last slew of updates, I have picked up another five tarantulas:

Ceratogyrus brachycephalus
Ephebopus cyanognathus
Ephebopus murinus (I’d previously purchased an A. seemanni mistakenly labeled as “Skeleton Leg”)
Grammostola pulchra
Brachypelma albopilosum

C. brachycephalus – Greater Horned Baboon

I’ve watched this girl grow at the pet store from 1/2″ ‘sling into a well started 2.5″ individual. Horned baboons were not on my wishlist, but she grew on me (and Ronnie dropped her price), so I had to bring her home. Her underside is a hypnotic void-black.

E. cyanognathus – Blue Fang

I’ve been telling Taylor and Ronnie I wanted a Skeleton Leg, and when they saw that blue fangs were also available for order, they made sure to have one in stock for me. You guys are so nice to me!!

E. murinus – Skeleton Leg

I was originally taken by the contrast of this species’ leg pattern, and I’m happy I finally got my specimen. I haven’t been able to find consistent information on behavior for this species, so I look forward to getting to know her. She has not shown me any defensive stance, but she’s still TINY. She and the blue fang both run a lot.

G. pulchra – Brazilian Black

I’m a sucker for things that are all-black.

B. albopilosum – Curly Hair

I couldn’t say no to a $10 tarantula. This picture is right after her first molt with me. She just got her color and looked much like the Brazi black pictured above when I first got her.

B. albopilosum Molt: July 7, 2014
